Odour reduction
Smell the difference!
Post-consumer plastics often contain migrated substances from food, cosmetics or cleaning agents that cause an unpleasant odor. But also residues of monomers, oxidation and decomposition products (VOCs – volatile organic compounds) can be the reason for undesirable odors in the recycled pellets. Depending on the type of polymer, source or type of odor, its intensity and the specifications of the recycled pellets produced, Starlinger individually adapts the recycling and odor reduction process. Material preparation, melt filtration, degassing and post-treatment of the recycled pellets are the main steps in this process.
