Recycling plus up-cycling
The choice of the correct recycling system depends on the nature of the input material. Fiber and filament production waste can be processed on two different systems. recoSTAR dynamic and recoSTAR universal differ only in terms of material pre-treatment and feeding of the extruder. While recoSTAR dynamic produces pellets with a higher IV, recoSTAR universal enables color-fast processing of light and white input materials. Both technologies can be designed as hybrid systems that enable the processing of both fibers/filaments and PET bottle flakes. recoSTAR PET is used to convert PET bottle flakes into pellets.
Starlinger offers special process steps and machine functions such as drying before extrusion, high-vacuum degassing, and ultra-fine melt filtration. We also supply technology for increasing the viscosity (IV) of the produced pellets to achieve the properties required for reuse.
